Oops I did it again. Or rather didn’t…

I’ve been absent for a while (sorry) but here’s what I’ve been up to over this time:IMG_1709

Writing letters to my friends, and pen pals. Including the delightful Laura!

Knitting a scarf with the new lovely yarn I bought. I hope my giftee likes it!

Driving around a lot and getting stuck in traffic. I like to use this time to take photos of lovely architecture. Like these stain glass windows that you actually can’t see!

Or these Juliet balconies. Aren’t they gorgeous in a falling down kind of way? (I was actually standing when I took this and therefore not driving.)

Trying not to hurl when we accidentally ordered chicken feet. I didn’t eat them but I did eat some of the bits of pork around them.

See you soon.

Presents!!

Completely unexpectedly, my darling friend (who is also very crafty!) 2paw, made this cute little zippy-up bag as a going away present! It was discussed which knitting projects would fit in it and thought that a very small pair of socks might and maybe I will use it for that. But for now it’s for all my little treasures that I’m taking with me when I venture overseas! I’ll show you later what I’m keeping in here.

And in my life today…

I lunched today with the awesome knitters that I love to knit with. We dined out at our local Milkbar, a new café that does organic food and makes a great cuppa. They are also quite crafty over there so our knitting group was fine and dandy sitting out the back around the large workshop table.

This was the last time I’ll be seeing the awesome knitters, as I’m moving in a few weeks to Malaysia. I haven’t mentioned the move here yet because I have been really distracted about it and, honestly, it’s a fricken scary thing to do. Anyway, as I won’t be seeing the knitters I thought it only right to take lots of photos. Here are a few:

Have a Happy Thursday!

Life in Pictures…

This week in my life.

Painted my nails with gold glitter! Love sparkly nails.

I sent some mail out to my pen pals Tracy and Laura. And I started reading Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins.

Bought Tawny Scrawny Lion for my friend Fee and wrote on the Where’s Wally postcard to send off. I also started the lace pattern on my Ishbel shawl and made a little bookmark.

Life in Pictures.

My life of late has:

Seen me peruse the Op Shops around my town. I found this amazing lounge suite in one outside of my city! Awesome right?

Imagine them with a really dark red or purple corduroy upholstery. Fabulous for reading. With a brown alpaca afghan and a nice big mug of strong tea. Brilliant. But alas I have no where to put them and I doubt they’ll still be there when I do.

This guy survived the whole trip to and from the supermarket, clinging to my rear vision mirror. It reminded me of that scene in A Bee Movie where the insects are clinging to the windshield (or was it A Bug’s Life?).

I have also been reading a lot and knitting like a trooper! And watching Speed for the 15 millionth time! Although I didn’t see it to the end, the perils of sharing a television!

And finally, on a cold and rainy day, I took refuge in the delightful cafe Nanna’s for a pot of piping hot tea and a slice of fruit toast, sprinkled with cinnamon sugar.

How’s your week been?

5 Things for Me

Last night I sat down to make a plan. I have discovered that although I have time to do things that I like, I waste this time! How dreadful. So I made a plan to carve out some time to do stuff that I like/want to do. I titled it: 5 Things for Me Before Fiji. Here they are:

1. Complete the 20/20 Home Cure. The basic idea is that I spend 20 minutes a day doing a set challenge, which is different everyday, for 20 days.

2. Write a piece for a publication. I would like to clarify that I don’t need to get it published at this point, I just need to write it!

3. Ride my bike at the weekends. Self explanatory.

4. Finish one knitting project.

5. Finish reading one book.

I put this plan into action at 8pm last night, starting with challenge 1 for the 20/20 Home Cure. I cleaned my bedroom. It’s spick and span. I even “dressed” my chest of drawers.

It’s nice to be able to sit in my room and not stress out because I can’t see the floor.

Today’s 20/20 was to buy flowers. Easy, that. I then popped them in a vase in the living room. Stayed tuned for more pictures.

As for the novel, I’m reading Bill Bryson’s Mother Tongue.

Talk soon. x
